Craftivists first meet up!

5 October 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Some of us in the Climate Hub community want to share and learn knitting, crochet, sewing skills etc and use it to change the world one stitch at a time! We’ll make sustainable gifts, useful items, hub displays, protest banners- anything we like! And gain useful skills and friendships for resilience too.

This is the first meeting, but other dates can be arranged at times to suit you! Please bring any materials you have to share (optional).

Let’s use secondhand materials and avoid buying new.

*Craftivism is a form of activism, typically incorporating elements of anti-capitalismenvironmentalism, solidarity, or third-wave feminism, that is centered on practices of craft – or what has traditionally been referred to as “domestic arts”. Craftivism includes, but is not limited to, various forms of needlework including yarn-bombing or cross-stitch. Craftivism is a social process of collective empowerment, action, expression and negotiation.
